Third vehicle linked to Niagara Falls murder found, suspects still at large

The police found the third vehicle linked to the search for a man and a woman wanted in a murder that took place in the city of Niagara Falls, but the suspects are still at large, amid warnings that they may be armed and dangerous.

The Niagara Regional Police announced the recovery of a 2016 Toyota Camry in the city of Saint-Eustache in the province of Quebec, after the suspects used it in their movements following the crime.

The car, which bears an Ontario license plate number DFWX808, was last seen on Highway 45 in the Hastings area east of Ontario, before being found in Quebec on Wednesday, July 22.

The police currently do not know if the wanted individuals are using a new vehicle, while the search for them continues under two active arrest warrants across Canada.

Wanted on second-degree murder charges

The police identified the wanted individuals as Marouf Bangi, 23 years old, and Justa Grace McNeil, 30 years old.

Each faces a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the killing of Mitchell Snowdon, 35 years old and a resident of Niagara Falls.

The police confirm that Bangi and McNeil are still at large and have urged the public not to approach or attempt to apprehend them, and to immediately call emergency number 911 if they see them.

The gun used in the shooting has not yet been found, so the police continue to treat the suspects as armed and dangerous.

Shooting inside a house

The crime occurred on the evening of Thursday, July 16, 2026, when the police received a report of a man being shot inside a house located on Thorold Stone Road near Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls.

The police arrived at the scene around 8:50 PM and found the victim with a gunshot wound.

Snowdon was transported to the hospital by emergency medical teams but died shortly after from his injuries.

Preliminary investigations indicate that two people arrived at the house and shot the victim using a handgun before leaving the scene in a vehicle that was parked nearby.

The police believe the shooting was targeted and not a random incident, but they have not disclosed the possible motive or the nature of the relationship between the victim and the suspects.

Three vehicles during the escape

The search for the suspects began with a white sports car, a Nissan Rogue model between 2022 and 2026, used to leave the crime scene.

The police later found the white car, before investigations indicated the suspects switched to a black 2021 Mazda CX-5 with license plate DDEC744.

The Mazda was also recovered, but the suspects were not inside.

After that, investigators identified a Toyota Camry as the third vehicle believed to have been used by Bangi and McNeil.

The car was equipped with LED headlights and showed damage to the front and rear passenger-side doors, along with a large break on the front left side of the bumper.

Its discovery in Quebec expanded the scope of the investigation but did not determine the current location of the suspects or their new means of transportation.

Possibility of changing appearance

The police suspect the suspects may try to change their appearance to avoid recognition, including changing their hairstyle or color, facial hair, clothing, and using cosmetics.

They noted that McNeil has a distinctive tattoo in the shape of a feather on the left side of her neck, a detail that may help identify her even if she changes her external appearance.

The police released photos of the suspects and asked the public to review any surveillance footage or car cameras that may have captured their movements or the vehicles they used.

Warning against approaching

The police emphasized that no one should attempt to confront or approach the suspects, given that the weapon used in the crime has not been found.

They asked anyone with information about their whereabouts to contact the Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit at 905-688-4111, then select option 3 and enter extension 1009134.

Information can also be submitted anonymously through the Crime Stoppers program, which offers financial rewards in cases where information leads to the arrest of one of the suspects.

The investigations are ongoing, and the police have not disclosed whether they believe someone else is helping the suspects hide or providing vehicles for them.

The charges against Bangi and McNeil remain allegations not proven in court, and they are legally presumed innocent until proven guilty.
