Complete blackout of the electrical system in all provinces of Iraq
The Ministry of Electricity announces the start of the investigation into the causes and confirms working on restarting the stations and lines

The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced on Wednesday a complete blackout of the electrical system in all provinces of the country, which led to a full stop of energy supplies.
The ministry said in a statement that the national electrical system was completely shut down throughout Iraq, noting that technical teams immediately began monitoring the situation to identify the causes that led to this widespread outage.
The statement added that the relevant authorities are currently working on diagnosing the faults and identifying the source of the malfunction that caused the electrical system to stop, coinciding with the start of procedures to restart the stations and transmission lines that went out of service.
The ministry confirmed that maintenance and engineering teams are working to gradually restore the system to operation and restore electricity to the provinces as soon as possible, once the technical malfunction that led to the general blackout is resolved.
