Toronto —
Canadian artist of Moroccan origin Nora Fathi is preparing to participate in the opening of the countdown celebrations for the launch of the 2026 World Cup, through a major concert to be held in Toronto on June 10.
The concert is part of a series of musical and artistic events organized in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, coinciding with the preparations of the three countries to host the largest edition in the history of the World Cup.
Toronto will host the first announced countdown concert, featuring Canadian artist Bryan Adams, Nora Fathi with Sangui and Figdream, in addition to a special collaboration between "AHI" and Wakefield Gene.
The event is scheduled to take place at the historic "Fort York" site and "The Bentway" walkway, bringing together crowds on the eve of the tournament launch in a musical atmosphere reflecting the global character of the World Cup.
Nora Fathi's participation carries special symbolism, as she returns to her hometown Toronto to take part in a global event, after achieving wide fame in Indian cinema and show songs over the past years.
Fathi was born in Canada to Moroccan parents, before moving to India and becoming one of the most prominent artistic faces in Bollywood, as she also achieved remarkable musical success through a number of solo songs.
Her choice to participate in the World Cup celebrations reflects the increasing presence of artists with diverse backgrounds in global events, and highlights the cultural diversity that Canada seeks to present during its hosting of the tournament.
