Canadian Minister of Artificial Intelligence explores expanding tech partnerships in Riyadh

The Canadian Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation, Ivan Solomon, announced that he held a series of meetings in the Saudi capital Riyadh with a number of ministers and business leaders, aiming to deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
Solomon said, in a post on his account on the «X» platform, that the visit comes as part of Canada’s efforts to open more markets for its tech companies, attract new investments, and create jobs for Canadians, emphasizing that cooperation with Saudi Arabia focuses on advanced technology sectors.
He explained that the meetings focused on supporting relations between the two countries in the fields of digital innovation, and exploring partnership opportunities between Canadian companies and their Saudi counterparts, amid the rapid expansion in artificial intelligence applications regionally and internationally.
For his part, Tarek Amin, CEO of «HuMain», said he hosted the Canadian minister at the company’s headquarters this week, expressing his appreciation for the visit. He added that the meeting allowed for discussing practical paths for cooperation, and exploring ways to employ artificial intelligence and digital innovation technologies to create a tangible impact in both markets, within the framework of enhancing strategic partnerships between the two sides.
This visit comes in the context of Canadian efforts to expand its presence in Middle Eastern markets, especially in advanced technology sectors, alongside Saudi plans to accelerate digital transformation and diversify the economy.
