Ottawa —
Former Boston University women's hockey coach Brian Durocher confirmed that Rebecca Leslie showed clear signs of having exceptional talent and a unique ability to read the play on the ice since her teenage years.

Durocher said he first saw Leslie when she was in tenth grade, and at that time he noticed what he described as "innate hockey intelligence," which is the element that makes a difference among great players.

Leslie later continued her career with Boston University for four seasons, where she became one of the most prominent players in the history of the college program.

She still holds the record for the most assists in the university team's history with 102 assists, ahead by two assists over the famous Canadian star Marie-Philip Poulin.

Leslie is today one of the prominent names in the Ottawa Charge team in the Professional Women's Hockey League, where she played an important role in leading the team to the Walter Cup final for the second consecutive season.

Observers point out that Leslie's strength lies not only in her technical skills but also in her ability to create plays and quickly read movements, which has allowed her to maintain her status as one of the top playmakers in her career.
