Atlético Ottawa ended its journey in the CONCACAF Champions Cup with a heavy loss against Nashville SC by a score of 5-0 in the second leg of the first round (Round of 32), being eliminated from the tournament with an aggregate score of 7-0 over the two matches.
The second leg was held on Tuesday evening at GEODIS Park in Nashville, where the American team entered the match leading 2-0 from the first leg held in Ottawa last week.

Match Details

Nashville opened the scoring in the 21st minute, before adding the second goal in the 36th minute to end the first half leading by two clean goals. In the second half, the home team continued its offensive dominance and scored three additional goals to settle the match with a 5-0 victory.
The scorers were:
Wobenz Basius
Jack Maher
Ahmed Qasim
and Jordan Knight (two goals)
confirming Nashville’s complete superiority in both matches.

Ottawa’s First Continental Participation

This was Atlético Ottawa’s first participation in the continental tournament, after qualifying as the Canadian Premier League champion. Despite the elimination, the participation was considered an important step for the club to gain international experience against a competitor from Major League Soccer (MLS).

After the Elimination

With their qualification, Nashville continues its journey to the Round of 16 of the tournament, while Atlético Ottawa returns to focus on its preparations for the domestic season in the Canadian Premier League.
Exiting with an aggregate score of 7-0 presents a challenge for the Canadian team, but it also reflects the difference in experience and resources between Canadian Premier League clubs and MLS clubs at the continental level.
