Trump links the future of understandings in the Middle East to the expansion of the Abraham Accords

US President Donald Trump threatened to rearrange Washington's priorities in the Middle East, affirming that expanding the Abraham Accords has become a key priority in US policy towards the region.

Trump said, in statements from the White House, that the accession of new Arab countries to the normalization process with Israel represents a necessary step to enhance regional stability, considering that the agreements launched during his first term have proven effective and achieved important political and strategic results.

He pointed out that several Arab countries have already joined the agreements, foremost among them the UAE, describing this step as courageous and influential in changing the nature of regional relations.

Trump added that he sees the accession of Saudi Arabia and Qatar to the Abraham Accords as a very positive development, especially in light of the rapid security and political transformations in the Middle East.

Trump also linked the expansion of the agreements to the diplomatic track with Iran, saying he is not convinced of the feasibility of any long-term understanding with Tehran if major Arab countries remain outside the framework of broader regional arrangements that include Israel.

His statements reflect an American attempt to push the normalization process back to the forefront of regional discussion, alongside efforts related to the Iranian file and containing escalation in the Gulf.

However, the accession of new countries, especially Saudi Arabia and Qatar, remains a highly sensitive issue, linked to complex political and security calculations, including the war in Gaza, the future of the Palestinian state, and guarantees of regional security.
