Morocco turns its deficit into an exciting win over Haiti and reaches the round of 32 in the 2026 World Cup

The Moroccan national team achieved an exciting victory over their Haitian counterpart with a score of 4-2, at the conclusion of the Group 3 competitions of the 2026 World Cup, securing a ticket to the round of 32 after an impressive offensive performance and a comeback.

The Haitian team surprised the "Atlas Lions" with an early goal in the tenth minute, after goalkeeper Yassine Bounou scored an own goal by mistake, before Achraf Hakimi brought Morocco back into the match by equalizing in the 39th minute.

Minutes before the end of the first half, the Haitian team regained the lead through Wilson Isidor in the 43rd minute, but Ismail Sbaïri succeeded in scoring the equalizer for Morocco in injury time, ending the first half at 2-2.

In the second half, the Moroccan team imposed its control over the course of the match, and substitute Sofiane Rahimi succeeded in giving the "Atlas Lions" the lead in the 78th minute, before Yassine Jassim added the fourth goal in the 89th minute, confirming the Moroccan team's superiority until the final whistle.

The Moroccan team scored four goals in one World Cup match for the first time in its history, breaking its previous record of three goals, which it achieved against Scotland in the 1998 World Cup.

With this victory, the Moroccan team raised its tally to seven points, ensuring qualification to the round of 32 as the leader of Group 3 on goal difference over the Brazilian team, while the Haitian team was eliminated from the tournament in the group stage after suffering three consecutive defeats without earning any points.
