Hebrew channel: Significant progress in security talks between Israel and Syria and possibility of a near agreement signing
Sources speak of a breach mediated by the Americans and ongoing disputes over the Israeli withdrawal and the nature of the agreement

The Hebrew channel i24 reported, quoting a Syrian source described as close to Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara, that the ongoing talks between Israel and Syria regarding a security agreement have made significant progress in recent weeks, with expectations of possibly signing the agreement in the near future.
According to the source, this progress is attributed to intensive efforts made by U.S. President Donald Trump, noting that the anticipated agreement may include a diplomatic annex alongside the security arrangements.
The source added that the potential signing may take place during a high-level Syrian-Israeli meeting held in a European country, without specifying an exact date or location. It did not rule out the possibility of a direct signing during a meeting between President Ahmed Al-Shara and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In a related context, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaybani stated last month that Damascus expects to reach a security agreement with Israel based on the disengagement agreement signed in 1974, with limited amendments, and without establishing buffer zones, before the end of this year.
On the other hand, Israel rejects the Syrian demand for a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from all points controlled by the Israeli army inside Syrian territory following the fall of former President Bashar al-Assad's regime.
The Hebrew channel quotes Israeli sources as saying that the Israeli army is prepared to withdraw from some of the nine points it currently controls, but only within the framework of a comprehensive peace agreement with Syria, and not within the context of a limited security agreement.
