Erling Haaland led the Norway national team to qualify for the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup, after winning against Senegal 3-2, in the match held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford as part of the second round of Group 9 competitions.

Substitute Markus Holmgren Pedersen opened the scoring for Norway in the 43rd minute, before Haaland continued his decisive presence by adding the second and third goals in the 48th and 58th minutes.

With this brace, Haaland raised his tally to four goals in the tournament, after he had also scored two goals in Norway's 4-1 win over Iraq in the opening round.

The Norwegian striker confirmed his status as one of the standout stars of the current edition of the World Cup, after playing a direct role in giving his country an ideal start and an early passage to the next round.

Despite Senegal's attempts to come back in the score, Norway succeeded in maintaining their lead and securing a valuable victory that strengthened their position at the top of Group 9.
