Cairo/Riyadh — Foreign ministers of 31 Arab and Islamic countries, along with the secretaries-general of the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Gulf Cooperation Council, condemned the statements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the so-called «Greater Israel Vision», considering them a disregard for international law and a direct threat to Arab national security, the sovereignty of the region's countries, and regional and international peace.
The joint statement issued on Friday said that the signatory countries will take all policies and measures that frame peace and consolidate it to ensure security, stability, and development for all countries and peoples, «away from illusions of control and imposing the dominance of power».
The statement strongly condemned the approval of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich of the settlement plan in the «E1» area, as well as his statements rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state, considering that such steps and statements exacerbate tensions and undermine the chances of a political solution.
The foreign ministers and regional organizations affirmed that any attempts to impose unilateral facts on the ground or redraw borders by force are null and void and contradict international legitimacy resolutions, calling on the international community, especially the Security Council, to bear its responsibilities to stop policies that undermine the chances of a just and lasting peace.
