In a special statement to "Arab News" newspaper, Ms. Gipsy Ghosh, the Executive Director of the World Multicultural Festival, stated that the festival, which is held for the fourth consecutive year, will take place on Sunday, November 27, 2022, from twelve noon to eleven in the evening, with the participation of more than seventy countries in the Heritage Hall at
Lansdowne Place
Gipsy added that a number of Arab countries will participate in presenting heritage and artistic segments including Egypt - Palestine - Algeria - Tunisia - Yemen - Syria.
Ms. Gipsy explained
that this festival was established in 2019 with the aim of
raising awareness about diversity and inclusion among multicultural communities in the world and in Canada. This is achieved by presenting their values and heritage through discussions and intercultural cooperation. Therefore, this celebration includes a forum for traditional and distinctive music of the countries participating in the event alongside artistic performances and traditional clothing shows, in addition to a number of various workshops, and a contest to select a queen in her traditional dress representing her country before a committee composed of several judges. At the conclusion of the event, prizes are awarded to the winners.
