Funding raises total Canadian aid to Palestinians to $500 million since late 2023

Paris —
The Canadian government announced the allocation of 100 million dollars to support Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as part of its efforts to alleviate the effects of the escalating humanitarian crisis and provide basic needs for affected civilians.
The announcement was made by Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand during her presence in Paris, where Western leaders and officials are participating in talks addressing the increasing challenges to reviving the two-state solution process.
The government stated that the new funding will be directed through United Nations agencies, the Red Cross, and other humanitarian organizations, to provide medical, food, water, and essential services assistance, in addition to supporting initiatives related to peace and stability.
The announcement comes amid the ongoing humanitarian deterioration in Gaza and rising international concern over violence in the West Bank, including attacks by extremist settlers on Palestinians.
This funding raises the total Canadian support allocated to Palestinians to 500 million dollars since late 2023, reflecting Ottawa's attempt to enhance its humanitarian and diplomatic presence in one of the most sensitive files in the Middle East.
Canada confirmed that the aid targets civilians and urgent humanitarian needs, at a time when international calls are increasing to ensure the safe and regular delivery of aid to those affected.
