Evian – France —
US President Donald Trump confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz will be fully reopened to international navigation by Friday, indicating progress in efforts to ease tensions in the region and restore the flow of trade and energy through one of the world's most important maritime passages.

Trump's statements came during talks with the President of the United Arab Emirates on the sidelines of the G7 summit meetings, where discussions covered regional developments and issues of security, stability, and energy.

The Strait of Hormuz is considered a strategic artery for global trade, as a large percentage of oil and gas exports destined for international markets pass through it, making any developments related to navigation there closely monitored by governments and financial markets.

In a related context, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi arrived in the French city of Evian to participate in the G7 summit, responding to an official invitation to join discussions on international economic and political issues.

El-Sisi is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings and consultations on the sidelines of the summit, where discussions will focus on international economic cooperation, regional security, challenges of stability and development, alongside a number of files of mutual interest among the participating countries.

These diplomatic moves come at a time when the region is witnessing rapid developments, amid international efforts to contain tensions, ensure the stability of energy markets, and protect vital maritime navigation routes.
