The Brazilian Football Confederation issued an official statement following the national team's exit from the 2026 World Cup after losing to the Norwegian team 2-1 in the round of 16, in one of the tournament's biggest surprises, affirming that the team will overcome this stage and return stronger in upcoming competitions.

The statement said that the history of the Brazilian team was not built solely on victories and titles, but also formed through the difficult moments it faced throughout its history, which contributed to building the team's character and enhancing its ability to rise and regain its position among the world's top teams.

The Confederation confirmed that exiting the tournament does not diminish the value of the team or its football legacy, pointing out that the next phase will witness a comprehensive review of performance and work on addressing shortcomings, aiming to return to competition in the best form in upcoming tournaments.

The Confederation also sent a message of appreciation to the Brazilian fans who supported the team throughout its World Cup journey, expressing gratitude for the great support the players received, and affirming that this popular backing will remain a key motivation to continue working and regain successes.

The Brazilian team had bid farewell to the tournament after losing to Norway, in a match that witnessed the brilliance of striker Erling Haaland who scored both goals for his country, while Neymar scored Brazil's only goal from a penalty kick in the final minutes, without the "Seleção" being able to avoid elimination from the competition.

On the other hand, the Norwegian team continued making history, reaching the quarter-finals for the first time, where it prepares to face the English team, which secured its qualification ticket after its thrilling 3-2 victory over Mexico, in a match expected to be one of the highlights of the next round.
