To support "the lazy".. A German university allocates a "strange" financial scholarship
Published: August 22, 2020
It is known that universities reward diligent and hardworking people, but a German university made a major surprise after announcing a financial scholarship for the "lazy" if they convince that they will not accomplish anything, which was described as strange.
According to the British newspaper "The Guardian," the German "University of Fine Arts" in the city of Hamburg announced a scholarship of 1600 euros for anyone who wants to apply all over the country.
Applicants for this scholarship should specify the areas of "laziness" in which they excel in procrastination and inactivity.
The form includes four questions: What is the thing you do not want to do? And for how long do you want to avoid doing this? And what exactly makes you not do it? And why do you consider yourself the most suitable person not to do this?
Engineer and design theory specialist, Friedrich von Borries, the initiator, said that not doing something is not an easy matter.
He explained in a striking statement that this scholarship focuses on the "activity of inactivity," adding, "If you say, for example, that you will not move for a week, this is very amazing, but if you suggest remaining without movement and without thinking during this period, perhaps that is better."
