With the arrival of summer at its peak, and the rise in temperatures and humidity that cause us to feel discomfort and inability to endure this hot weather, we look for solutions to adapt to the high temperatures. It is not just about sitting in front of the fan and air conditioners, but we can also make some changes to our diet that allow us to adapt to this heatwave.
We can add some foods to our diet that help hydrate our bodies to deal with this heatwave, most notably:
1- Cucumber
Cucumber contains a high amount of water, so it helps cool the body and protect it from dehydration. It quenches thirst, gives us a feeling of freshness, and soothes the nerves.
2- Watermelon
It is the favorite fruit for many of us during hot summer weather, as it contains a high percentage of water that compensates for the fluids lost by the body due to sweating.
3- Arugula
It is one of the vegetables rich in water, so consuming it prevents dehydration caused by losing a large percentage of body fluids, and it also protects the skin from the harmful effects of sunlight thanks to its amazing components.
4- Lettuce
One of the most important foods that hydrate the body in summer, as it is rich in potassium, which maintains water balance in the body.
5- Zucchini
One of the ideal foods to cool the body in summer due to its high water content. It also contains a group of natural salts that the body loses due to sweating in hot weather.
As for drinks to deal with the hot weather,
You can drink natural juices without sugar to compensate for the fluids lost by your body due to excessive sweating during the heatwave. They are also rich in vitamins and important elements for the body.
6- Lemon juice with mint
You can consume this mix of mint and lemon to provide your body with the necessary cooling during the heatwave, as mint is beneficial for the digestive system and calming the nerves, while lemon is one of the citrus fruits that hydrate and refresh the body, and it fights fatigue and tiredness caused by extreme heat.
