Death of Canadian actress Shirley Douglas at the age of 86 years

Arab Canada News: Shirley Douglas, the famous Canadian actress and activist, passed away on Sunday at the age of 86, according to her son, actor Kiefer Sutherland.

The actor said in a message on «Twitter» that Shirley Douglas died on Sunday morning due to pneumonia, adding that her death is not related to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to «Agence France-Presse».

Sutherland, famous for his role as «Jack Bauer» in the American series «24», wrote, «My mother was an extraordinary woman, who lived an extraordinary life,» adding, «Unfortunately, she had been suffering from health problems for a while and we, her family, knew that this day was coming.»

Shirley Douglas had three children, two of whom are with Canadian actor Donald Sutherland, and Shirley is also known as an activist in several issues including the civil rights movement, the «Black Panthers» in the United States, and the public healthcare system in Canada.
