British report reveals allegations of unprofessional behavior among some flight crews

A British press report revealed allegations related to unprofessional behaviors attributed to some flight crew members, based on testimonies from current and former workers in the sector, who spoke about practices they said occurred outside the official work framework and during layovers in various international destinations.
According to the report, several former flight attendants reported the prevalence of personal relationships among crew members during international flights, in addition to organizing gatherings at accommodation hotels in some cities, which ended – according to the testimonies – with actions described as violating the professional conduct rules adopted by airlines.
Some speakers pointed to cases of excessive alcohol consumption, and even allegations of using prohibited substances, which in limited cases led to disciplinary actions including dismissal or referral for investigation. The report also touched on separate incidents involving pilots who faced legal or administrative accountability due to serious violations of safety rules and job discipline.
On another note, the report highlighted that some hospitality crew members were subjected to harassment or inappropriate behavior from passengers during flights, especially during peak seasons, confirming that airlines adopt strict policies to deal with such cases when officially reported.
