Published: August 27, 2020
Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world, became the first person in the world to have wealth exceeding 200 billion dollars, according to the ranking of the American magazine "Forbes," which monitors the wealth of billionaires around the world.
Notably, the wealth of Bezos, the director and founder of the e-commerce company "Amazon," briefly exceeded 200 billion dollars, as the billionaire failed to maintain that level for long.
"Forbes" indicated that Bezos ended yesterday, Tuesday, with a wealth of 199.7 billion dollars, which in itself is a record level for the billionaire.
This is due to the fluctuation in the price of "Amazon" stock, and it is worth mentioning that the "Amazon" stock rose significantly during the current year against the backdrop of the coronavirus crisis.
The stock ended Tuesday's trading with an increase of 1.18% at 3346.49 dollars per share, and accordingly, the company's market value rose to 1.68 trillion dollars.
According to data from the American magazine, Jeff Bezos owns 11.1% of the shares of "Amazon" company.
